Free Expressions
Expressions was the first hosted photoblogging solution back in 2003. We set the stage for many other photoblogging services and have, over the years, cultivated a truly wonderful community of photographers and artists. We are exceptionally proud of what we have accomplished and the number of folks who have emailed us to tell us how much they enjoy using Expressions shows we've done a good job over the years.
After much deliberation and many discussions we have decided, somewhat regrettably, to close new subscriptions to Expressions. What this means for you, our current members is the following:
- There will be no new features added to the service.
- There will be no support from us directly via email (the Expressions Google Group will remain open and active to post your questions to the community there), unless there is a server issue.
Considering these changes and how we value the support of all of our members over the years (whether you have been with us since the beginning or just for a few months), we are making Expressions 100% free. We will be cancelling all subscriptions from PayPal, so don't be surprised when you get an email from them informing you of the cancellation. You will no longer be charged. You can continue to use Expressions for as long as you want. The servers will remain active so there is no concern of losing your photoblog.
It's sad to put a beloved project out to pasture, but in all honesty we have not had the time or resources to truly dedicate ourselves to Expressions in recent months. We wish we did. It would be even sadder for us to string the project along without guaranteeing progress to you, our members.
We hope you will see this as a good thing - free is always good, right - and will continue to enjoy photoblogging with Expressions. It is still the great, easy-to-use system it has always been, but now you can use that $3.00 each month (or $2.50 for those who have been with us from the start) to donate to a good cause, put aside for something fun, or buy yourself a coffee (or at least an espresso).
